I had a numb left leg and a strange pinched, tight, pain in my right leg. After one treatment, my right leg was back to normal (after months of a strange and painful issue I was trying to accept as part of the weirdness of getting older) and my left leg was a 70% less numb-- which Dr.
My wife has had migraine headaches for months, we've been trying preventative medicines prescribed by her neurologist but the side effects are not good. When at the Mayo Clinic for another health issues, we saw another neurologist who told her to get off the preventative medication so she could try another.
Dr. Xie is truly exceptional. I had been struggling with complex hormonal issues for over a decade, and after trying countless approaches with limited success, I finally found real relief through his care. His expertise in acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine is evident in every session.
Dr. Xie is great. I've had 3 sessions with him so far (1 session a week for 3 weeks) and I can definitely tell a difference in how I'm feeling. He is very smart, kind, and has wonderful bedside manner. Not to mention he's very affordable. The care and treatment you receive for the price here is unbeatable.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
