From the reviews
Dr. Xu is phenomenal! I have been seeing her for over 15 years, she has helped me manage everything from chronic allergies and sinus issues, anxiety/stress and any ailments in between. I have learned so much over the years and thanks to Dr.
Dr. Xu and her team are exceptional! I have seen Dr. Xu for several years regarding various health issues. She has always listened to my concerns and provided services that gave me relief. Acupuncture, acupressure and cupping have enabled me to continue doing the activities I love.
I was diagnosed with multiple concussions that was causing pressure in my head and migraines. I was not improving and after a year my Nuerologist recommended a visit to Dr. Xu. After the 3rd visit the pressure subsided and I immediately stopped the medication I had been on for a year.
I highly recommend Dr. Xu. Her knowledge and compassion have helped me through several health issues. Her assistant, Gertrude, is a caring individual who always makes me feel comfortable. I now continue monthly acupuncture treatments for maintenance.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
