From the reviews

I’ve only had 2 appointments so far and I’ve never previously had any acupuncture work done. With Shannon I feel comfortable and at ease. From what I can tell, she seems to be an expert in her field.

I started seeing Dr.Shannon in May ‘24 but stopped pursuing treatment after life got messy haha. I recently started treatment again and appreciated she remembered me and my issues and started a new treatment plan for me!

★★★★★ — Traci, Jan 2025

Dr. Shannon Freeman is amazing! As a newer patient, I was a little nervous about acupuncture and she totally put me at ease. She ensures you’re comfortable not only one the table but in your overall experience. Her treatments have made a huge difference in my well being.

★★★★★ — Erika, Nov 2023

I Love Shannon's beautiful personality. She is kind, easy to talk too and is informative. I always feel better, with less nerve pain in my hands after each sesson. If you're on the fence about acupuncture, Shannon should be the first acupuncturist you visit.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
