From the reviews
I can't recommend Suzanne enough! She was absolutely amazing in helping me manage my swelling and fluid retention after liposuction. From the very first session, she was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring.
Oh my goodness! I had my first lymphatic drain massage today, and I feel fantastic! Mary Lou welcomed me with a warm smile, gave me the most gentle treatment, and explained every part of the procedure. She also gave me helpful advice that will last a lifetime.
I have been going to Douglasville Therapeutic Massage regularly for over 8 years. DTM is one of the only local establishments that offer specialized lymphatic massage needed for many post surgical recoveries, something I require to manage fluid build up after breast cancer surgeries.
My experience has been nothing short of amazing. I was diagnosed with a bulging disk at C5-C6 as well as an ulnar nerve entrapment/irritation. I was in constant pain and there were some things that I still struggled with after several months of physical therapy.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
