Why Ding's Acupuncture & Wellness is listed — cupping is a treatment, not a Google category, so we only list a provider when there's real proof they offer it. Here's what we found: “teel needles of fine diameter (less than .30mm). Most of our patients find our treatments almost painless and relaxing. We also use other modalities such as Chinese herbs, electro and auricular acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, Tui Na…” source →

From the reviews

What a wonderful visit! I received an acupuncture and cupping treatment, that I received as a Groupon gift. I was seen by Lei Ding, Licensed Herbalist, Acupuncture & Massage Therapist. She was so professional, friendly and I really enjoyed my visit. Highly recommend. Thank you Lei!

★★★★★ — David, Dec 2021

I really enjoyed my session at Dings! Lei is really knowledgeable, and great to talk to. She was thorough in her explanations and explained every step of the treatment. I am not new to acupuncture, but never tried the cupping technique - and I really appreciate it.

★★★★★ — Thabata, May 2018

I went in for a variety of pains and found that she was very comprehensive. The acupuncture and cupping was really great, and then she also addressed helpful stretches and lifestyle changes.

GREAT ACUPUNCTURIST! VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE! Definitely recommend! Haven’t had cupping in a decade! Got compliments after. Felt rejuvenated! She takes insurance! Cannot wait to be back!

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
