From the reviews
Update: I feel the need to express my gratitude for Dr. Hyun. The sessions with her have really helping my post surgery recovery. I was struggling with inflammation and pain but with drs help, I started walking without a cane and without debilitating pain. The feeling is amazing.
Dr. Hyun is super nice and informative. I was nervous about my first acupuncture session , but she was able to make it painless and relaxing. She also did the dry cupping for my shoulders and lower back, it lessened the tension that I had and relaxed my muscles. Been going weekly and feeling the progress!
I had a great experience at this acupuncture clinic. The staff is very professional, knowledgeable, and excellent at what they do. I also tried cupping therapy, and ever since then I’ve noticed my muscles feel much more relaxed and less tense. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, and I always feel well taken care of.
I have been going to Dawa Acupuncture for over a year, and it has truly made a difference in my overall health and well-being. I have received treatment for eczema, hormone imbalance, heavy periods, and stress, and the results have been life-changing.
Booking hijama (wet cupping) at DAWA Acupuncture Clinic 다와한의원
DAWA Acupuncture Clinic 다와한의원 comes up as a provider that offers hijama — wet cupping, where the skin is lightly punctured after suction so a small amount of blood is drawn. If you're booking hijama specifically, a few things are worth asking before you go. First, sterility is everything — a reputable practitioner uses a fresh, single-use kit (new blades and cups) for every client and follows clean, gloved technique. It's completely fair to ask how they handle this. Second, many people booking hijama want a same-gender practitioner — ask whether that can be arranged. Third, ask about aftercare and whether they observe particular days if that matters to you.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
