Charming and educational! This is a very unique experience bc there are hardly any metaphysical shoppes. The lady owner was super kind and gave us a mini tour. So many options to visit her! She has a small library to chill in-a meditation area-and a gathering space for any function!
This shop has a lot of potential. It carries candles of all colors, essential oils, tarot cards, oracle cards, crystals, spices, and herbs as well as offers spiritual services.
It never matters how bad the day may be, when you enter the store your mind settles and you feel centered. You can focus on why you are there and maybe pick up a few extra things. The owner is an amazing lady and the staff are super friendly and always willing to assist you.
I love this little Shoppe. What a wonderful addition to old main in St Albans. I may be a little biased, as the shop owner has allowed me to consign my apothecaries there. So many beautiful curiosities and classes, massage, reiki, meditation, tarot readings. Everything!!
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
