From the reviews
…When I first came to her I was nervous about acupuncture, but now I'm totally comfortable and we've been trying new techniques like cupping and e-stim. She always walks me through each new procedure and makes sure I'm doing okay throughout. She is also easy to talk to, attentive, and just a good human!
…Mary put together a comprehensive plan of Accupuncture, eastern herbs, cupping and massage to treat each of my issues. I’ve been seeing Mary for almost a year now and I feel 10x better than when I started. Along with her amazing practice, Mary is a wonderful person and easy to talk to about my concerns.
Dr. Mary Wood does incredible work. I came looking to support my treatment for Chronic Lyme disease, specifically my symptoms of headaches, fatigue, inflammation, neuropathy, and poor circulation. Mary was kind, attentive, and asked a lot of questions to understand my complicated health situation.
Mary is wonderful and her space is warm and inviting! She is an active listener - very attentive, empathic and collaborative. I feel very seen and cared for when I'm with her. Since beginning my relationship with Mary, I've seen improvements in my physical and mental health.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
