From the reviews

So great! Laura was so incredibly nice and easy-going. She explained everything really well so we understood the process of cupping and how it can help. Also did the mobility movements during the cupping treatment and finally had relief. Will be coming back! Bonus points for being a local, small business!

Amazing therapist! Extremely knowledgeable and compassionate. I’ve been to several therapists for neck and shoulder pain, but never felt a complete relief from th constant pain. I left her office feeling better than ever. I did my homework before contacting College Station Active Therapy.

My son is a competitive tennis player and has been suffering with shoulder pain for several months. After only two treatments of ART his shoulder is much better and he back in the game. He has also learned exercises that he is able to do at home to strengthen his shoulder and prevent further injury.

Laura does wonders!!! Not only did she help with my lower back pain, she showed me different foot exercises to help me with my flat feet. She is great at teaching her clients how to help themselves. Knowledge! Bonus, She has a kind and positive personality. I recommend her ALL day long. Nadja

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
