From the reviews
Nine years ago, I was in a car accident which destroyed my body.. I have suffered from neck and back pain as well as nerve pain, which has forced me to reinvent myself, switch jobs and forgo activities that once defined me. I have been unable to find things that truly helped me with my pain.
I’m a recent graduate, and can’t say enough, how grateful I am to have had the incredible experience of attending this school. Though the work load was more than I expected, my instructor Liz was there at every moment to help and guide me, and she organized the work so well, everything was perfectly manageable.
I cannot imagine a place that is better than the Center for the Healing arts. The teachers are more than just teachers, they are complete angels and exceptional massage therapists. They are kind, nurturing, patient, and intelligent. They care so deeply about this field, their students, and their clients.
I am a current student here and can’t say enough about how wonderful it is. I have the most knowledgable, kind, patient & encouraging teacher & the entire staff here is so amazing. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the positive energy. If you are thinking of going to massage school, definitely visit this one.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
