From the reviews

Laurie is a fantastic acupuncturist. She has reduced my pain significantly. I was not sure if I would ever be able to manage my chronic pain, and Laurie’s acupuncture has given me new hope. You will find her warm and inviting, and willing to share her wealth of knowledge.

★★★★★ — Ray, Jan 2014

Recently, I began having treatments with Laurie Mitchell. At my first visit, she spent a long time reading my pulses. In the 15 years I’ve been having acupuncture, I’ve never had such in depth readings done.

★★★★★ — Sally, Jun 2025

I'm very pleased with and grateful for the results I have had with Dr Laurie's acupuncture treatments. When I began receiving her care, I had random episodes of leg heaviness;< I couldn't move one foot in front of the other.

★★★★★ — Karen, May 2026

I was in a car accident a month after my wedding and I have been dealing with non stop pain in my back and I've been looking into everything. I have been to the chiropractor for about a year straight. Then i came across Laurie Mitchell and decided to contact her and ask questions.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
