From the reviews
I was curious about the benefits of Hijama so I attended one of Amara’s Hijama presentation and demonstration sessions. I learnt so much from attending the event. All my questions and concerns were answered so booked a hijama session with Amara for my migraines.
I’ve had several sessions now with Amara at Cambridge Hijama healing and I have been so impressed with the results. I suffer with Endometriosis and I have noticed an improvement in my pain and other symptoms.
I had a fantastic experience with my hijama session. The practitioner was highly professional, knowledgeable, and made me feel completely at ease throughout the process. The place was clean, hygienic, and comfortable, which added to the overall positive experience.
I’ve been visiting Amara for two years now, and every session with her feels like a soothing escape from the stress of daily life. Her wet cupping treatments have become a much needed relief that I always look forward to. Amara is highly professional and personable, creating a warm and welcoming space.
Booking hijama (wet cupping) at Cambridge Holistic Healing
Cambridge Holistic Healing comes up as a provider that offers hijama — wet cupping, where the skin is lightly punctured after suction so a small amount of blood is drawn. If you're booking hijama specifically, a few things are worth asking before you go. First, sterility is everything — a reputable practitioner uses a fresh, single-use kit (new blades and cups) for every client and follows clean, gloved technique. It's completely fair to ask how they handle this. Second, many people booking hijama want a same-gender practitioner — a female practitioner is available here. Third, ask about aftercare and whether they observe particular days if that matters to you.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
