I initially chose Bodywork Professionals because of their location. The Niskayuna office is so convenient for me! I also really appreciate the abundance of information they have on their website about their business, types of services offered, and general holistic health related content.
Today, I had a massage at the Niskayuna location of Bodywork Professionals. Upon entry, the atmosphere is immediately calming. The colors of the studio, combined with the aroma of Eucalyptus, was incredibly relaxing and inviting.
I recently had a massage that was truly outstanding. From start to finish, the experience was relaxing, professional, and exactly what I needed. The massage itself was perfect, skillfully tailored to address areas of tension while still providing an overall sense of comfort and relaxation.
I’ve been going to Nick at the Niskayuana location for a few months now and he is seriously the best!! He finds and relieves tension I didn’t even know was there. His massages are not only relaxing but very effective.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
