Why Body Mechanics Physical Therapy is listed — cupping is a treatment, not a Google category, so we only list a provider when there's real proof they offer it. Here's what we found: “blood and lymph circulation, bringing in new nutrients that tissues need to heal and removing old toxins. Massage therapy can also be used to improve the pliability of muscles and fascia to improve freedom of movement. Cupping Therapy…” source →

What clients say about the cupping here
“Previously, every physical therapy provider I saw delivered similar lackluster services, seeming to accept my mobility and strength would quickly decline.”
“David Barber at body mechanics in Norwell is an expert on how the body works and shares his knowledge with his physical therapy patients.”
“He takes the time to listen, provides highly personalized treatment plans, and explains the "why" behind every exercise, ensuring you feel confident in your progress.”
“You get one on one guidance from the actual therapist the entire appointment and not 5 minutes with your PT with a student training the rest of the time taking over.”
“The facility itself is impeccable—exceptionally clean, well-organized, and equipped with everything needed for high-quality rehabilitation.”
“In a few months, with the help of Sydney and Jay, I not only recovered my strength as I got to meet a wonderful staff that always made me feel welcome.”
From the reviews
I've been to a number of Physical Therapists over the last 20 years but Body Mechanics has been a revelation. My Therapist, Alexis LaPointe, was incredibly skillful, instructive and encouraging throughout my recovery from Sciatica in both legs.
I’ve had the pleasure of working with Billy, Dave and Jinny at Body Mechanics. Billy started the process with a sports massage, identifying problem areas I thought were lost causes to getting old, releasing the tension and letting me know I wasn’t destined for a life with aches and pains.
Came into Body Mechanics with a strained muscle in my upper right back. Got set up with Dave Barber and worked with him for 2-3 weeks. Dave helped me recover and build back my muscles in a matter of weeks. Only way to describe Dave and Body Mechanics is professional.
Body Mechanics is the best place I've ever been for PT. All of the staff are welcoming, knowledgeable and supportive. Dave is amazing. He worked with me to develop a personalized plan and I can't thank him enough for his help and kindness.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
