From the reviews
Rachel is a very knowledgeable and thorough practitioner. I was very appreciative of the time she took with me for my intake. Her insights were helpful and I loved not only the acupuncture, but the cupping and massage she provided (she’s got strong, healer hands!
When searching for an acupuncturist and herbalist, one size does not fit all, unless you are fortunate enough to have Rachel Burack as your practitioner. Rachel is a licensed and experienced acupuncturist with expertise in pain management and holistic health.
I can’t recommend Blue Heron and Rachel enough! Rachel is an incredible acupuncturist who truly listens to your concerns and creates treatments that are tailored to your individual needs.
"A serene experience with a genuinely caring person" I was a little nervous about my first acupuncture session, but Rachel immediately put me at ease, listened to my issues with patience, and provided thorough explanation. The treatment itself was surprisingly relaxing—I almost fell asleep!
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
