Dr. Andrew is amazing! He is professional, patient and very caring but mostly he has passion for his patients. Every time when I get my regular acupuncture treatment, he will look at my toung and listen to my pulse to detect if I have other issues or pain. It's pretty unbelievable, but he is right every time.
I visited Andrew for the first time and I came in for treatment for back stiffness close to the neck and spine area. The experience was very thorough, yet not time consuming at all. However, the office itself is difficult to locate.
Dr. Andrew is simply wonderful. I have been seeing him since the pandemic, and during our weekly session he checks and tailors the treatment to my health condition every time. He’s personable, professional, and really good at what he does.
Dr. Andrew Houn is great! He helped me identify some health issues and was able to do red light therapy and acupuncture for me, the office is right next to a gelato shop in prime time Laguna Beach, would highly recommend to anyone looking for an OC acupuncturist !
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
