From the reviews

Great experience. Some acupuncture places somehow hurt, Dr. Lai's treatment did not hurt. Highly recommend cupping for pain management.

I have used acupuncture medicine for almost 15 years. I was diagnosed with RA at 30 years old. I read & discovered acupuncture can alleviate pain, swelling and close to a miracle I was able to walk again and I ditched my orthopaedic shoes.

I had a problem with my hand; the thumb was numb, and I went to a hand doctor. He referred me to a nerve specialist, but I tried acupuncture instead. Hilary worked with me for 15 sessions, and I believe she saved me from surgery. I feel my hand is 85%-90% better now.

★★★★★ — Lisa, Sep 2022

I had my 2nd visit with Hilary and it was much needed. I had a stressful week at work and seeing Hilary was the highlight of my week! This session felt better than the first and I was so relaxed after my visit. Hilary is so nice and makes sure that you are comfortable during your session.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
