From the reviews
I had heard about Bee Cave Acupuncture for years—they came highly recommended from multiple sources—and when I developed a frozen shoulder, I finally came in. Best decision I could have made. The care here is exceptional.
The team here is truly exceptional. Lillian, Belle, Dan, and Jesse consistently demonstrate a high level of expertise, empathy, and professionalism in their roles. I have been a patient at Bee Cave Acupuncture, seeking treatment for chronic migraines and arthritis in my lower back and hips.
Dan is a miracle worker. I went to Bee Cave Acu last year when a recurring neck/shoulder issue began to spike again, with the aim of forestalling a new round of steroid injections in my spine.
Jesse Gilliam is an outstanding acupuncturist who truly understands the unique needs of the veteran community. His specialization in pain relief has been a game-changer for many who have struggled with chronic service-related injuries.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
