What clients say about the cupping here
“” Those were the exact words my supervisor told me when I first mentioned that my pain management doctor (through Worker’s Comp) suggested I try acupuncture.”
“Lisa is a real professional who, besides being a gifted acupuncturist, also has a background in massage therapy which made her treatment more thorough than most I've had over the last 25 years.”
“Booking online is easy, insurance claims are a breeze, but most of all Lisa listens and genuinely wants to help her patients be well.”
“Her bedside manner is second to none: compassionate, affirming, and soothing in a way that makes you feel seen and cared for as a whole person, not just a patient.”
“Her attention to detail includes not only the best TCM practices but also supreme cleanliness which we can all appreciate these days.”
“Lisa is an excellent practitioner, she is a master in her trade and has created a warm and welcoming environment in her new office.”
From the reviews
Highly recommend working with Lisa at Bay View Wellness. I've been going to Lisa on and off for years... in preparation for pregnancy, during pregnancy, post-pregnancy... when I'm stressed or having back-pain... for acupuncture / cupping / massage / chinese herbs. She's fantastic!
Lisa was introduced to me by my wife when we were members at Harbor Bay. We are so glad that she has her own practice very close us. I have been dealing with back and knee issues (mainly due to tennis).
I’m so happy I found Lisa! I have regular bi-weekly services with her and have been happily pain-free! Her mix of massage, cupping and acupuncture has helped me recover from some pretty severe postpartum pain and ongoing back pain.
I first saw Lisa at Harbor Bay Spa in 1999, and have been a satisfied and grateful client ever since. She has helped me with a variety of maladies from neck and shoulder pain, carpel tunnel syndrome, and negative and stressful emotions.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
