From the reviews
What a wonderful home away from home I found in the Athletico establishment in Lincolnwood. From the initial contact with the capable receptionist Afeefah (sic), I was made to feel comfortable with my choice of centers. And, yes, I was lucky.
I cannot say enough about how much I appreciate and recommend Athletico in Lincolnwood. I am an upholsterer. My job is very physical and requires a great deal of strength and dexterity. Six months ago, I injured my back badly and was unable to do simple every day tasks, let alone work.
This is an awesome team! This was first ever PT experience of any kind and I didn't know what to expect – quite honestly I was nervous and scared of the possibility of finding out that something could require PT.
My experience at Athletico Lincolnwood was excellent. I had knee replacement surgery and I went to Athletico for my physical therapy. I had two therapists -- Han and Rachel -- and both were wonderful.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
