I have been a consistent client of Asian Arts of Balance over the years. The atmosphere is very soothing and professional. When entering I feel transported to a place of peace and balance and I love the traditional approach to eastern medicine that is used here. Both Dr. Cheng and Dr.
Asian arts of balance not only changed my life but saved it. I was released from my job due to a severe injury a few years back and had to retire. I went to every doctor to try to figure out what was going on and couldn’t get an answer. Then I went to Asian arts of balance and the staff and doctors where so nice.
The staff here are knowledgeable, compassionate and friendly. It's like being cared for by family. My treatment eased my anxiety and helped me prepare for an upcoming medical procedure. I highly recommend, they've been consistently great.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
