I feel like Alexis has literally saved my life these past few months. She is a very generous provider, always willing to spend extra time with me, performing gua sha and cupping and then acupuncture. She has a very gentle touch with her needles which is perfect for me right now.
I’ve seen Lex a handful of times now and she’s just GREAT! She has incorporated the spoons and cupping for the last couple of session and that plus the wonderful acupuncture = floating! I don’t even need to drive home, I just somehow am home.

I am new to Asheville and I was looking for an acupuncturist. I get acupuncture wherever I live. She was fantastic. I am so happy I found Alchemy! I got amazing care from Sarah Jean. She did a whole history and then treated me. I ended up getting a package for weekly care.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
