From the reviews
This was my first time doing cupping. I recommend it to everyone!!! It was relaxing and such a great experience. I’ve done it twice now and intend to go back for other treatments. I was treated with care and I could tell she works from her heart.
I had an excellent experience at Al-Shifa. Shamshad is very knowledgeable and highly skilled. I felt so relaxed after my session and my shoulder pain felt better. I was a bit nervous about doing cupping but her calm presence put me at ease, I would recommend it to everyone.
Very hygienic and professional but also comfortable set up. Had excellent experience with both dry and wet cupping/hijama. Very experienced and has good control so the cupping never hurts or leaves any bruises. Very friendly and accommodating of your time, and never rushes through a session.
The therapist there is very knowledgeable and very professional. I have seen other cupping therapist before but she is very far the best. You definitely get an immediate result just from 1st session. I will definitely be returning to this therapist for all my future cupping therapy. Thank you!
Booking hijama (wet cupping) at Al Shifa USA
Al Shifa USA comes up as a provider that offers hijama — wet cupping, where the skin is lightly punctured after suction so a small amount of blood is drawn. If you're booking hijama specifically, a few things are worth asking before you go. First, sterility is everything — a reputable practitioner uses a fresh, single-use kit (new blades and cups) for every client and follows clean, gloved technique. It's completely fair to ask how they handle this. Second, many people booking hijama want a same-gender practitioner — ask whether that can be arranged. Third, ask about aftercare and whether they observe particular days if that matters to you.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
