Three years ago, I began my first ever accupunture and cupping treatments with Lanna for muscular skeletal and nueropathic pain along with degenerative disc disease and chronic pain syndrome. Over these few years, I've had many treatments which have been helpful to manage these various conditions.
I just had my first appointment with Lana yesterday. I arrived at her office feeling as though I was dragging 500 lbs behind me and my mood reflected this. During the time I was on the table I began to feel the weight lift, the positive energy began to flow, and my mood/outlook improved.
Lanna goes above and beyond to ensure acupuncture is addressing my needs, from anxiety to specific areas of my body that need special treatment. After my treatments, I literally feel blissful and look forward to my next appointment. She is an exceptional healer and overall great to work with.
I used Agate Acupuncture for my first acupuncture experience and immediately felt like I was in really good hands. Lanna made me feel so cared for and comfortable as she learned my health history and explained the process. During the procedure I was so at peace that I almost fell asleep.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
