From the reviews
Phenomenal place to treat back issues, knees etc. The team is outstanding in all areas. Honest feedback and genuine care from each and every person you come in contact with. The physical therapy team is knowledgeable and caring and treat you with respect.
Advanced Medical and Wellness has been taking care of me for nearly a decade. If not for this office, I would be worse off physically for sure! I regularly see either Dr. Derek Black, Dr. Vinson, or Dr. Dylan Black for my back and neck adjustments. At times, I have also had massages for my back issues as well.
Dr Black identified that I some intense cervical and lumbar spine issues going on and entered the correct diagnostics and made the needed referral to the Mayfield clinic. Diagnostics were completed and I am currently receiving treatment from physical therapist at Dr. Black‘s office. Kelly and Kylie are awesome.
I can’t say enough great things about AMWC and especially Derek. From the moment you walk in, the entire team is welcoming, professional, and truly cares about your health and recovery. Derek is exceptional at what he does. He’s knowledgeable, attentive, and incredibly thorough.
Booking hijama (wet cupping) at Advanced Medical & Wellness Center Inc
Advanced Medical & Wellness Center Inc comes up as a provider that offers hijama — wet cupping, where the skin is lightly punctured after suction so a small amount of blood is drawn. If you're booking hijama specifically, a few things are worth asking before you go. First, sterility is everything — a reputable practitioner uses a fresh, single-use kit (new blades and cups) for every client and follows clean, gloved technique. It's completely fair to ask how they handle this. Second, many people booking hijama want a same-gender practitioner — ask whether that can be arranged. Third, ask about aftercare and whether they observe particular days if that matters to you.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
