I went due to back and shoulder issues and Dr Yin was very supportive and helpful. In few sessions I recovered my back endurance and my shoulder pain reduced significantly. Thanks!!!

I've been there twice a year ago and this month. Both times, it worked like a miracle for my back pain. It's a very simple place, nothing fancy, but the doctor is fantastic.

★★★★★ — Elena, Jul 2023

Dr. is incredible, I would recommend her to anyone. Not only treats what you came in for, but also tension she finds during her analysis. Very attentive and skilled.

Best acupuncturist. She really knows the root of the problem and resolves them for the patient.

Booking hijama (wet cupping) at Acupuncture & Health Center

Acupuncture & Health Center comes up as a provider that offers hijama — wet cupping, where the skin is lightly punctured after suction so a small amount of blood is drawn. If you're booking hijama specifically, a few things are worth asking before you go. First, sterility is everything — a reputable practitioner uses a fresh, single-use kit (new blades and cups) for every client and follows clean, gloved technique. It's completely fair to ask how they handle this. Second, many people booking hijama want a same-gender practitioner — ask whether that can be arranged. Third, ask about aftercare and whether they observe particular days if that matters to you.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
