From the reviews

Dr. Liu has been amazing! I went to at least 40 doctors and specialists for a strange autoimmune that affected my entire life. I have had probably hundreds of blood panels and five years of searching for a doctor that could help me or give me some sort of information as to what was wrong with me and this was after…

I have been suffering from sciatica for the last 20 years. Normally a steroid shot took care of everything, but since I’ve gotten older now, the shot isn’t working anymore. I knew there was somehow other than pain pills that I could be relieved of the pain and the pressure and the burning.

Absolutely amazing! I injured my hands and could not make a fist and lost sensations, plus a pinched nerve! One treatment and my nerve was fixed and I could instantly make a fist. Tired of getting bursitis shots? Well, Dr Liu treated mine using the cupping method. No more shots for me ever again!

I tried a few different methods before scheduling an appointment with Dr. Liu. I was new to Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine; so, I did not know what to expect beyond what I read online. I finished my treatments today and I am happy that I followed my intuition and scheduled with Dr. Liu. Dr.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
