From the reviews

Dr Wonjoon has been great so far. He is really knowledgeable in acupuncture, cupping, moxa, and many other treatments. He seems to enjoy his work and genuinely wants you to feel better. I love how easy it is to set up appointments. I called in and he was able to see me the next day.

I’ve had back and neck pain for decades and have always relied on Advil or Tylenol for relief. When I recently found out that my insurance covers acupuncture sessions, I decided to give Acu Wellness a try based on online reviews.

I can highly recommend Acu Wellness. A great office with well educated professional acupuncturists. I've received a lot of help with acute and chronic pain and so much more, with excellent results during a long rehab situation. I find acupuncture to be such a supportive resource for healing for all kinds of issues.

Act Wellness really helped me a lot with having years of upper back and lower back pain. This has been more effective than massage therapy and I’ve noticed my trigger points have decreased by a lot. I highly recommend this place if you want to heal the root of your issues!

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
