From the reviews
Dr. Courtney is a healer. Point blank. End of sentence. I've rarely encountered a doctor that listens with care and compassion like Dr. Courtney. I felt heard and understood in our initial consultation.
After many months of low back pain, radiating down left leg and making life miserable, I found my way to Dr Courtney Altman. Physical therapy, ordered by my GP, had gotten me no relief, but I felt perhaps Dr Courtney could give a second opinion and a different approach. I was right!
I was drawn to Dr. Courtney after watching a video showcasing her 1-on-1 approach to physical therapy and decided to give her a try to help with a shoulder issue I was experiencing that was affecting my swimming and weight training. Throughout my whole experience I always felt like Dr.
8 years ago I started having severe chest pain and because of it I could no longer run and had pain all of the time for the past 8 years. After just 5 appointments with Dr. Courtney I was able to start running again!! Dr. Courtney is fantastic! She is sweet, thoughtful, kind, and super knowledgeable.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
